About Dexter Cooperative Preschool

Dexter Cooperative Preschool has provided Dexter and the surrounding communities with a quality, affordable preschool education since 1976. The preschool is operated by member caregivers, an elected school board, and two teachers.

The Dexter Co-Op has been located within the Peace Lutheran Church since 2016 (no affiliation), with close proximity to West Ann Arbor and Downtown Dexter. The preschool has utilization of two classrooms and a full-size gymnasium. The Co-Op also has an outdoor playground, which was fully funded and built by the Dexter Co-Op, and is specifically tailored to preschool-aged children.

Classes at Dexter Cooperative Preschool are led by two experienced teachers and volunteer caregiver “assists.” Preschoolers learn through a play-based curriculum in the classrooms and gymnasium as part of their daily routine, while also enjoying outdoor play-time (weather permitting)! There is a daily cap of 14 students for the 3’s class and 16 students for the 4’s class. For families with younger siblings, the Co-Op is happy to introduce families to each other for sibling care swap during assist days.

Dexter Cooperative Preschool is a non-profit licensed by Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
